Core Values
Integrity is the quality that, without compromise, guides FMO personnel to act responsibly, to be dependable and responsible, to hold others accountable for their actions, and to respect humanity.

Commitment is the bond between all FMO members that drives us to complete any mission, to get the job done in support of peers, subordinates, or superiors by sharing the load and looking out for each other’s welfare.

Excellence is the total, 24-hour a day, dedication to community and the people we protect. It is the driver behind our determination to achieve the highest standard of achievement in everything we do.
The HCFMO’s greatest asset is the men and women who embrace and live by a set of enduring Core Values. These values give him or her strength and form the basis for every action; they bond each member into the team that will meet and withstand every challenge.

No Novelty Lighters

Novelty lighters work like any other lighter, except that it looks like a child's toy. The ultimate goal of the fire service is to make the sale and distribution of novelty lighters illegal all across the United States. On September 25, 2007, 15 month old Peyton Edwards and 2 year old Breydon Edwards of Russellville, Arkansas died after setting fire to their apartment with a motorcycle lighter. A 6 year old son of a fire chief in Maine picked up a miniature baseball bat, thinking it was a flashlight, he flicked the switch. A flame shot out and singed his eyebrow and burned part of his face. These are just a few examples of these novelty lighters appearing to be a child's toy. By banning these Novelty Lighters, we can eliminate the fires and burn injuries that result from kids playing with novelty lighters.  full story
