The Boarding Home Regulations for Unincorporated Harris County, Texas (the “Regulations”) are intended to comply with Chapter 260 of the Texas Health & Safety Code, as amended, and the current Texas Model Standards for Boarding Homes, attached hereto as Appendix A and incorporated herein as referenced. (b) It is the purpose of the Harris County Commissioners Court to establish reasonable and uniform regulations of Boarding Homes to promote and protect the health, safety, and general welfare of the residents of unincorporated Harris County, and to protect the residents of Boarding Homes from abuse, neglect, exploitation, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, and other criminal or unethical behaviors.

Have you been approved for a Fire Code Permit?

If you are approved for a fire code permit and have completed all required construction, you should have received anotification from the Harris County Engineering Department. Check your application status by logging in to your ePermits account. If you are approved, continue to step 2.

Pre-inspection Document

Before requesting your inspection, please fill out the Fire Code As Built Certificate (form) and submit it to fmosupport@fmo.hctx.net.

Once your Certificate is reviewed, you will receive an email on your next steps. NOTE: This does not take place of submitting an inspection request

Fire Code Inspection

To request your inspection go to http://www.eng.hctx.net/permits/Inspection-Forms/Fire

 or log into your E-Permits account and click on the pending inspection and follow the pin points until the inspection has been requested.  An assigned inspector will call within 3-5 business days to schedule the date and time for the inspection.
