Fire Prevention Week

The HCFMO Outreach team is committed to promoting fire and life safety awareness throughout the community. By collaborating with fire safety educators across the country, we aim to provide life-saving public education during Fire Prevention Week. Our goal is to significantly reduce fire-related casualties by educating children, adults, and teachers on how to stay safe in case of a fire.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) campaign, October 4-10, “Charge Into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” focuses on the everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer.

2026 hcfmo Coloring Contest

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, HCFMO is hosting our 2026 Coloring Contest themed, ”Safe Charging Is A SUPERPOWER!” A winner will be chosen from each coloring contest division to win the GRAND PRIZE of a HCFMO mini parade of apparatuses and a HCFMO goodie bag. We can’t wait to see all your creativity!

CONTEST RULES:

HCFMO Mini Parade of apparatuses will only be available to an address in Harris County
Must be a student in the following grades: Pre-K - 5th Grade
Only one entry per student

HOW TO ENTER:

Download the 2026 HCFMO Coloring Contest Sheet from: www.hcfmo.net.
Color the picture with crayons, markers, or colored pencils and be creative!
Include your name, grade, and contact info in the box provided on the coloring sheet.
