Planning
The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Planning Branch provides administrative, technical, educational, and operational support to all HCFMO sections. Additionally, the Branch develops strategic planning initiatives in support of the Fire Marshal’s Office, Fire Departments in Harris County, and other emergency response partners.
Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Initiative
The Houston Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Initiative (RCPI) was made possible through FEMA’s Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP). Through regional collaboration with jurisdictions and partner organizations in Southeast Texas, the RCPI augmented the region’s planning for catastrophic incidents through it’s development of 12 regional plans spanning communications, public safety and security, health and medical services, and search & rescue operational coordination. By June 2014, twelve plan training videos and job aids were created to increase responder awareness of the regional plans.
